Leaf Twig single-edge safety razor: dangerous failure mode, but easy fixes

I wasn’t sure where to put this design review, so it has been sitting here a long time since I wrote it. Hopefully this is still useful. It’s possible the company has already fixed these issues in the intervening years, but I fixed my razor instead of buying a new one, so I wouldn’t know. After my razor broke, I replaced the screw tightening mechanism with an over-center latch and I’ve been pretty happy with it.

We have a train-station-style Ikea wall clock that I really like, but it chews through batteries pretty fast, at least on one side. There are actually 2 clock mechanisms back-to-back, so they were mercifully designed to be smooth and not clicky. On the other hand, that means it doesn’t fail…
