About

My name is Eric Jones and I make things. I live in Fort Collins, Colorado, and I am proud to be a CSU ram.

Sometimes I work on complex projects that require both halves of my brain to identify, model, and solve problems with hardware and software engineering. Other times I duct tape vacuum cleaners together and scoff at planned obsolescence. This is a collection of projects that fall somewhere in that range.

There is a quote from Sir Issac Newton that I walked past every day at CSU: “If I have been able to see further than others, it was because I stood on the shoulders of giants.” A lot of the projects that I do are wholly reliant on a global open source community, which is then recursively reliant on previous generations and the free exchange of ideas and information. It’s giants all the way down.

That community of people who know things and make things will always be a threat to people who stand to profit from our ignorance and ineptitude. They want to make the human pyramid of knowledge narrow, weak, and reliant on monthly payments of whatever we can’t quite afford, and they’ll do it in whatever way they can. Never stop defending human rights, no matter how small or distant their target is.

Trans rights are human rights.
People are never illegal.
Abortion is healthcare.
Vaccines work.
Love.
